Our Creator

Meg (she/they) graduated with her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology & Scandinavian Studies in 2023. Anthropology, simply put, is the science of humanity and what makes us human. Ethnography is an anthropology term meaning the study and documentation of people and their cultures. Her interest in Scandinavia stems from research into her ancestry and reuniting her family groups separated by immigration generations ago. (Not to mention her favourite cultural tradition of the Swedish Fika!)

When studying anthropology, Meg discovered so much about herself and fell in love with learning about other peoples & cultures. Learning to see past societal norms and expectations was the breakthrough she needed for her own self-reflection.

Struggling with her sexuality and identity into adulthood, she eventually came out as non-binary, particularly enjoying being gender fluid with no allegiance to any one gender and the freedom to explore the self. She believes that self-discovery is never over, and is, in fact, a journey, not a destination.

Fueled by her love of cultures and languages and seeing the need to inspire acceptance and understanding, Ethnography was born with the hope of spreading mental health awareness, social justice, self-love, and cultural awareness.

Meg truly believes that accepting cultures other than your own as unique rather than "wrong" would help solve many problems in society today. Perhaps by learning about other cultures, we can all be more accepting of each other, and ourselves.

By combining these values with fair trade and sustainable business, Meg hopes that we can make a difference in the world we live in and look towards a better future in these uncertain times.

You are welcome & safe here. We are all HUMAN here.
